Welcome to the Cairn Eilrig, Glenmore

Cairn Eilrig, which means Cairn (hill) of the Deer Walk, is wonderfully located in the Glenmore Forest Park (Forestry Commission) in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, just behind the Reindeer Centre in Glenmore.

About

Mary who has lived in Glenmore for many years will welcome you to her home and help you plan walks as well as things to see and do in the area and beyond.

Cairn Eilrig is an ideal spot and centrally located so you may wish to stay for a few days and explore the great activities and attractions the Highlands have to offer.

Inverness is only 40 minutes away - Loch Ness, Distilleries, Castles. Closer to home there is Cairngorm Mountain, Strathspey steam railway or walking and cycling in Rothiemurchus and Glenmore. The Highland Wildlife Park and Highland Folk Museum are both popular things to do and not too far to travel to.

Things to do & see

Funicular_11I have a selection of books about the local wildlife and walks which I am happy to loan to guests who would like to explore the area during their stay.

If you are looking for a real sense of this beautiful location I can recommend a trip on the funicular railway up Cairngorm mountain, you will feel on top of the world! (image courtesy of www.cairngormmountain.co.uk)
